Jonas traces its roots in America to Samuel Langer. After learning his craft at leading Austrian ateliers, Langer immigrated to the US from Austria in the 1920's. He worked with some of the top artisans of the day including Joseph Hoffman.
American Ingenuity
Ronald Jonas, Langer’s nephew, learned his craft at Langer's atelier. Eventually he established his own atelier, Ronald Jonas Interiors, in NYC. There he continued his uncle's traditional approach and art of making fine upholstered furniture and curtains, achieving an exemplary reputation for workmanship in his own right.
Steven Jonas & Charles Berlin
Steven Jonas, Ronald's son, and Charles Berlin, Ronald's son-in-law have continued the Ronald Jonas Interiors tradition. The company, now known as Jonas has grown and is regarded as one of the premier upholstery and curtain workrooms in the United States.
The White House
Jonas is honored to have it's Breck sofas in the Oval office. Jonas has a more than fifty year history of providing upholstery and curtains for the White House, Blair House, and the Vice President's residence.
